Why you need a stitch file
Your machine can't read a JPG.
An embroidery machine doesn't understand pictures. It needs a stitch file: a set of instructions telling it where every stitch goes, in what order, which direction and how dense. Turning your logo into those instructions is called digitizing.
Free converters and auto-digitizing software try to do this automatically. The result usually looks fine on screen but sews out badly: puckered fabric, gaps, thread breaks and lettering that turns into blobs. We digitize every logo by hand, planning the stitch path for the size and fabric it will be sewn on.
You get back a clean file in your machine's format, ready to load and stitch.

Contact UltraEMB ↗Can't I just convert my JPG with free software?
You can, but auto-converted files rarely sew well. The software can't tell what is lettering, what is an outline or how your fabric will stretch, so you usually get puckering, gaps and thread breaks. Hand digitizing plans each part of the design for how it will actually stitch.
What kind of image should I send?
Any clear JPG, PNG or PDF works. A vector file (AI, EPS or SVG) is great if you have one, but it isn't required. If your logo is blurry, we can redraw it first.
What size should my logo be?
Tell us the finished width on the garment. A left-chest logo is usually 3 to 4 inches wide, and a cap front is usually 2 to 2.5 inches tall. The file is built for that size.
Can I resize the file myself later?
Small changes of about 10 to 15 percent are usually fine. For bigger size changes, ask us and we will adjust the file properly so the stitches stay clean.
Is this a physical item?
No. You receive a digital embroidery file by email, ready to load onto your machine.
How fast will I get my file?
Most logos are delivered in 2 to 4 hours. Very detailed designs can take longer, and your quote always shows the delivery time.
